The biotech sector has seen significant development of new delivery vehicles, typically a virus, for cell- and gene-based therapies. However, investments from individual biotech companies have been isolated, leading to increased costs, hindered innovation, and redundant efforts to solve similar problems. Thereby slowing down the process of bringing new drugs to market. Syenex is changing all this by giving access to top-tier targeted viruses and making them accessible to all gene- and cell-therapy developers. This increases the opportunity for more medications to advance to clinical trials and reach the market. And most importantly, meet the needs of more patients.
As newcomers in the market, Syenex required a comprehensive visual and verbal identity that exuded tech, innovation, and credibility to attract recruits and establish themselves as a dependable partner to their clients. With this in mind, and the open platform Syenex provides for their users, we created an overall identity concept resembling a modular-based, open framework to communicate boundless possibilities and a stable foundation. A universal grid served as one of the main visual elements as well as a foundation for pattern creation. The interconnected fields symbolised cellular interactions and granted limitless potential for pattern formation giving the brand extensive flexibility when creating different assets. The typeface, with round corners and connections, contributed to the bio-inspired appearance, again picking up on cellular interactions. A palette of black, white, and various shades of grey establishes a neutral, minimalist tone with pronounced contrast. Finally, an abstract 3D interpretation of DNA structure was employed as a distinct brand asset, producing a futuristic, and sophisticated aesthetic.
The new brand successfully managed to manifest Syenex's distinct position and approach within the biotechnology field, seamlessly blending innovation and technology with the company's democratic mission. All to support Syenex’s journey towards a better, more inclusive future in biotechnology.
